How much will it cost?
These hourly rates apply to both carry-in and onsite customers:
For home users: $75/hr
For businesses: $90/hr
Payment Terms:
For home users, payment is due when work is complete or when you pick up your computer. For businesses, payment is due within ten days of the invoice. Late charges apply to delayed payments: 1.5% per month starting at 20 days overdue. Deposits are required for computer purchases or parts orders over $200. I am willing to be flexible if, in your situation, any of these terms seem unreasonable; just ask. I offer better payment terms for returning customers who have paid promptly in the past.
Travel charge: $1.25/mile
One-way from downtown Corvallis to customer location, per trip. No travel charges within Corvallis or Philomath city limits. Travel to Albany is $20/trip; Lebanon, $35/trip.
Maximum: 3 to 4 hours (restrictions apply)
For carry-in customers, I will not charge over 3 hours on a single computer (4 hours for extreme situations, involving extensive hardware and software work), regardless of the actual time involved. This does not apply to onsite service (house calls) or business computers. The situations in which I charge over 3 hours are very rare and usually involve laptops or data recovery.
Minimum: ½ to 1 hour
½ hour for carry-in customers; 1 hour for onsite service or data recovery. Dead Laptop diagnosis is a flat $45 charge.
New desktop computer prices: my cost + 2 hours labor.
Includes 1-year full service warranty. Data transfer from your old computer and basic onsite setup are 1 additional hour each. I also charge a handling fee: 5% of the cost of the parts I order. Sometimes I receive broken parts and must return them; this fee defrays such costs.
New notebook computers: actual labor time.
I don't normally sell notebooks (laptops). If you want to spend an hour with me at my store picking out the right laptop for you to buy yourself (online), I would be happy to help you. When it arrives, I can transfer data, upgrade the laptop's memory, and/or tune it up.
Computer parts sold at competitive prices (which fluctuate; call to inquire). Local checks and Visa/Mastercard accepted. I reserve the right to refuse service. I will not get involved in any shady business practices (so don’t ask me to), and I insist upon an alcohol-free work environment when I come out to work on your computers. Thanks for understanding.
